Day 1. Short Pelagic if time permits, Peruvian Martin, Chilean Woodstar. Around 3 pm we leave for the south to San Pedro de Atacama looking for Tamarugo Conebill. Some nightdriving to reach Calama at around 9.30 pm.
Day 2. This day we shall get a taste of the altiplano. It shall be very scenic with Tatio geysers searching for the main target the local Red-backed Sierra-Finch. Other birds include Chilean, Andean and Puna Flamingos, Andean Goose, Puna Teal, Mountain Caracara, Slate-colored and Giant Coots, Puna Plover, Andean Lapwing, Andean Avocet, Puna Yellow-Finch and Gray-breasted Seedsnipe.
Day 3. Drive to Paso de Sico via Miscanti for Horned Coot which is the main target. The area is also good for Puna Rhea and the three flamingos. After the border crossing around midday we continue towards Jujuy.
