Birding Peru Anytime
Every week Mo-Fri throughout the year Kolibri attempts to run three different 5 day tours. They are our most popular programs and perfect for those with little time. You can of course combine them into one longer trip. They are:
Photography friendly Machu Picchu and Cusco endemics - with extreme comfort.
Manu road. Best season and drier mid-April to mid-December - although birding can be very good also in the rainy season between showers.
Northern Peru transect Tarapoto-Jaen or vice versa with Marvelous Spatuletail and Long-whiskered Owlet. Note that the male Spatuletail often lack spatulas in July-Aug.
When you book, we shall enter the dates in the calendar so other people will see that these trips are running these dates and they could book the same date for a better price for everyone.
Having said that, just booking any date yourself or with your partner at the date you prefer will not break the bank. $1000 surcharge for a single person + single supplement. $500 surcharge per person if only two people. $250/person surcharge with three people, and no surcharge with groups of 5 or more.

14 - 17 FIXED DEPARTURE - Scarlet-banded Barbet extension (Guide(s): Juan Julca)  Peru's newest birding hotspot with localized and recently described Scarlet-banded Barbet and Cordillera Azul Antbird. Both endemics of course. We make a three day version of this same itinerary which basically gives you the same stuff. The road is much better now, so we shall gain some time this way.
You can add the16 day Complete North Peru tour after this trip. It will start in Tarapoto on Nov 18 reversing the itinerary to end in Chiclayo.
18 - Dec 3 FIXED DEPARTURE - Northern Peru Complete Standard Birding Route in 16 days. (Guide(s): Juan Julca)  Note: The tour will run in reversed order. Start in Tarapoto and end in Chiclayo.

24 - 31 FIXED DEPARTURE - Bhutan: Birding and Buddhism in the Kingdom of Bhutan (Guide(s): Gunnar Engblom)  Bhutan is of another world. Join us for this magic experience in the Himalayas. 5 - 9 Marvelous Spatuletail, 40 hummingbirds and Long-whiskered Owlet. (Guide(s): Gunnar Engblom)  Long-whiskered Owlet and Marvelous Spatuletail are the main targets of this short 5 day trip. There are 40 plus hummingbirds to be seen, lots of tanagers, toucans, barbets, oilbird etc that are also seen on this packed short tour. Good lodges with feeders. Add Barbet Extension and perhaps a Machu Picchu  program. Best to fly to Tarapoto the night before to maximise the time.
